Situated in Norfolk and a family run business, the Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Company is nestled within the stunning country landscape, and enveloped by the exhilarating sea air. Their beautiful, handmade beds are lovingly crafted with heart and care – how could you fail to have the best night’s sleep for the rest of your life!
How often do you actually know the name of the person who makes your bed, or any product for that matter, let alone their family, their location and their pets!? There’s parents Amanda and Stephen, and sons Jack and Harry, and a team of craftsmen. Oh, and there’s a rescue Boxer dog called George, and many chickens gleefully roaming the land.
We spend a third of our lives in bed – it is like one of the family! How refreshing to know that your UK handmade bed from Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Company is guaranteed for a lifetime, an absolute investment that can accompany you with every house move you make. Definitely destined to become a family heirloom!
So, before we all decide to move to Norfolk and move in with the lovely Oldfield family and George, let’s quickly find out more about their stylish and robust beds… let Harry take it from here…
‘We specialise in designing and creating wrought iron beds, iron beds, and brass & nickel beds, using traditional construction techniques. Our beds are made from wrought iron, and are hand welded and not pressed. This gives a very strong and solid bed frame.’
‘We offer a bespoke service, so the customer can really have the bed tailor-made to suit their needs, we really want the bed to suit the customer’s own style, so they can choose the colour (from ivory, cream or black), the finial style and the size.’
‘Plus our beds are powder coated, and not sprayed. So any colour is possible (although something not standard colour may be at an additional cost). We can even do non-standard size if you want extra leg length, for example!’
‘The beautiful designs range from traditional to contemporary, plus a charming and robust range of children’s beds, ideal for all the bouncing and jumping little pirates and princesses!’
We met Amanda and Harry at Grand Designs Live and were very impressed by their stunning beds; the quality of craftsmanship and the beauty of the designs were obvious to see, and yes, we did have a little rest – we can report they are very comfortable too and would definitely recommend them!
This family are so lovely, they’ll even suggest places to visit if you are in the area after visiting their showroom and want to make a day of it; from visiting the stunning coast around Brancaster, to a gentle walk around Sandringham, or lunch at Burnham Market.
Now that’s what we call bespoke customer service that matches their amazing bespoke and beautiful beds!
